My latest destination of desire is Phuket. Been back twice in the last five months. Gorgeous beaches, great food and pad thai I can get enough of. Now Chiang Mai, I know, is not exactly surf sun and sea, but they’ve got two lovely chefs from the Shangri-La Chiang Mai pottering over this month to dish out a Thai spread at Trader’s Hotel Singapore smack in the middle of town. Prices for the Thai Food Promotion start from $38++ for lunch buffet, while dinner and Sunday brunch costs from $48++.
Good value? Ready to read on? Smell the pad thai yet?
From 12 - 30 April, Chef Wasana Talthong and Chef Sunata Aepngoen will be cooking up a storm, with classics like Tom Yam Kung, Thai Papaya Salad with Grilled Chicken, Massaman Chicken Curry,Red Ruby with Coconut Milk and Jack Fruit, etc. But I will keep my eyes peeled for the Chomaung (Rice Flower Wrapped in Minted Pork and Turnip) which is Chef Wasana’s specialty and with heaving bosom and bated breath, sink my teeth into the pad thai, Chef Sunanta’s forte! Shivvver!
The luscious eats is served up at Cafebiz (nice to have air-conditioning with the chillies!). I think a Thai brunch sounds particularly scintillating, especially with a bit of bubbly!
