Shopaholics heading out for a regional spree take note – a number of SimplyFab-approved hotels are giving super value deals, which means you get to chill out in classy digs and still keep your snake-skin purse fat enough to buy that one more pair of shoes and have change for a few more martinis! How great is that??
The ultra-fashionable Metropolitan Bangkok has launched its ‘Ultimate Savings Offer’ promotion. For a minimum of two nights, you can stay in a City Room from an eye poppingly inexpensive US$99++ (S$139), a Studio Room from US$119++ (S$167), or a Metropolitan Room from US$150++ (S$211).
A few little conditions though - reservations must be confirmed at least seven nights before arrival, and paid in full on reservation. Cancellation less than 72 hours and no-show will incur one-night room charge. Rates are for room only and promo is valid until 31st December 2009.
If that doesn’t suit you, this super slick hotel is also offering a three nights for two deal if you book a Metropolitan Room for at least three consecutive nights. This is available until March 2010.

And if you’re pottering off to Asia’s shopping mecca – ie. Hong Kong – check in at The Minden, it’s new ‘art hotel’ located smack bang in Tsim Sha Tsui’s fashionable Minden Avenue. From now until the 31 Dec, stay for three consecutive nights in the hotel’s Deluxe rooms but pay only for two. These rooms start from HK$900 (or S$163) per night. The good news is that this deal is also available throughout Christmas when most hotel rooms are painfully expensive.
Called the “Christmas Comes Early” package, it includes Continental breakfast, a complimentary Winter or Christmas cocktail at Courtney, the hotel's stylish lounge bar (and named one of the top five clubs and bars in Tsim Sha Tsui' by the Lonely Planet) and airport transfers by deluxe airport hotel coach SkyeXpress at HK$100 per person. Toss in 4pm late check-out, free in-room local calls and broadband internet, and a 20% discount on mini bar purchases, laundry, dry cleaning, and service charge for IDD Calls and it’s a promo hard to pass up if you’re tripping over for shopping. Only a limited number of rooms are available for this promo, so book quick.

The Fleming
We also like the way The Fleming – a chic and cosy, 66-room boutique hotel in Wanchai – has put us girls on top priority for this year end shopping season. The new ‘Her Space Escape’ package’ launched earlier this month offers in-room spa services for us girls by mobile massage specialists Xi Shi Well Being. Available until 31 December, and priced from HK$1,380 (S$250), this package comes with a 60-minute massage by Xi Shi Well Being, breakfast and a 4-course set dinner at signature restaurant Cubix.
If you want more indulgence, you could get an energizing Detox massage to improve lymph flow at HK$490 for an hour, HK$698 for 90 minutes and HK$931 for two hours. Other treats include complimentary aroma therapy oils, flowers and fruits, welcome mocktail (huh?? Where’s the alchohol? – that tripped me up a bit!) and L'Occitane bath amenities, free broadband and access to nearby California Fitness gym.
The Fleming is known for its girls-only floors where rooms are equipped with jewelry boxes, beauty kit and facial steamers; mini bar tailored to our genteel needs with herbals teas and healthy snacks, and leg massager on request (after a hard day of shopping, of course!).
Just for boasting rights, The Fleming was ranked on Condé Nast Traveller’s “Hot List 2007” among the world’s best new hotels, and a finalist as Best Boutique Hotel of the Year 2007 in the SCMP/Harper’s Bazaar Style Awards.
