Binge - Upcoming Events - Fabulous Nights Out

Stiletto Night: Discounts by the Inch

Bondage, cage, strappy, classic – whatever the shoe style, the Oracle says go forth and buy yet another pair of heels. The higher, the thinner, the more lethal, the better. For Shangri-La Singapore, which had been rolling out a number of quirky deals this year, has just announced Stiletto Night! With immediate effect, every Friday night is Stiletto Night at BLU Bar, where every inch of your heel – excluding the platform at the toes – gets you a 15% discount on drinks by the glass. So if you've got a three inch heel, its 45% off your tipple. What’s more, you get a complimentary drink if your stilettos are less than 1cm in diameter. If you’re footing the bill, the discount you get extends to your entire group too. Talk about killer heels!

Shochu Dinner with Sake Master
We’ve all had our share of vintner’s dinners, but how about a shochu dinner? Now that’s unique! Satsuma Shochu Dining, the only speciality shochu restaurant in Singapore, is holding a shochu degustation dinner on Wednesday, 25 November featuring Hayato Hishinuma, one of Japan’s first Masters of Sake and ‘ambassador’ of shochu. The five course dinner (some of which comprise multiple dishes) is paired with six shochus from Kyoya Distillery in Miyazaki Prefecture. Priced at a very reasonable $128, expect dishes like chicken skin with spicy cod roe, cheese rolled with pork belly, Kagoshima beef, assorted sushi, eggplant and Japanese yam stew.

Austrian Wine Festival at Esmirada Restaurants
Another unique drinking experience, Austrian wines! Let me state from the start that they are not sugar water, which even moi was misled into believing all these years, until I had a taste of them recently myself. Indeed they were all very elegant, crisp and dry, and lovely with food, and even moi is quite taken by the delights of grüner veltliner. Foodies need must definitely explore this new gustatory experience! Until 30 November, the Esmirada Group is holding the Austrian Wine Celebration with a series of wine dinners and tutored tastings. During this time, the group’s seven restaurants will also offer 11 Austrian wines by the glass. Three-course wine menus from $88 - $115 will also be available at some of the restaurants. If you like exclusive wine dinners – which often give a bit more value and guidance – pen these down on your diary.
